Neck, Thyroid & Salivary Gland Ultrasound
High-resolution ultrasound evaluation of superficial neck structures to investigate endocrine conditions, palpable lumps, or soft tissue changes. This includes the thyroid, salivary glands, lymph nodes, and general neck masses — ideal for endocrine, ENT, or oncology-related concerns.
- Assesses thyroid gland size, shape, echotexture, and vascularity
- Detects and characterises thyroid nodules using U-BTA classification (British Thyroid Association Guidelines)
- Differentiates causes of swelling such as multinodular goitre, Graves’ disease, or Hashimoto’s thyroiditis
- Monitors known nodules or post-thyroidectomy beds for recurrence or residual disease
- Ideal for: Thyroid dysfunction, visible neck swelling, goitre, nodule follow-up, or thyroid cancer surveillance
- Evaluates gland size, echotexture, ductal dilation, and symmetry
- Identifies signs of sialolithiasis (salivary stones), sialadenitis (inflammation/infection), and duct obstruction
- Detects solid or cystic tumours including pleomorphic adenoma, Warthin’s tumour, or abscesses
- Assesses for autoimmune involvement such as Sjögren’s syndrome or post-viral glandular changes
- Ideal for: Pain or swelling during meals, dry mouth, facial fullness, or persistent salivary gland lumps
- Measures enlarged lymph nodes in the neck and supraclavicular region
- Differentiates reactive vs suspicious lymphadenopathy using nodal shape, cortex thickness, vascularity, and presence of hilum
- Monitors lymphadenopathy in oncology patients (e.g. thyroid cancer, lymphoma, head & neck cancers)
- Ideal for: Neck lumps, recent infections, cancer follow-up, or unexplained cervical swelling
- Characterises palpable neck swellings such as lipomas, sebaceous/epidermoid cysts, dermoid cysts, abscesses, or vascular anomalies
- Differentiates between benign and suspicious lesions and monitors post-traumatic or post-surgical changes
- Determines the need for ENT referral, fine needle aspiration (FNAC), or surgical consultation
- Ideal for: Unexplained facial or neck swellings, superficial lumps, or trauma-related masses
- Evaluates post-surgical neck beds following thyroidectomy or lymph node dissection for recurrence or healing status
- Monitors for residual disease, scarring, or re-emergence in known thyroid cancer or lymphoma patients
- Supports ENT, endocrine, and oncology follow-up protocols with clear, high-resolution imaging
- Ideal for: Ongoing cancer surveillance, postoperative follow-up, or recurrence risk evaluation
